Bill Clark continues to work his recruiting magic, as two more recruits will be joining the UAB football program this fall as walk-ons, per Drew Champlin.
UAB has a couple of good nearby RBs joining program this fall as walk-ons in Hamilton's Denzel Mitchell, Thompson's Carlos Stephens

The gem in this catch is Denzell Mitchell. A three-star prospect, according to 247Sports, Mitchell was at one point an Ole Miss commit (Mitchell is considered a four-star prospect on Scout.) Mitchell was the 12th best prospect at RB in the state, and top 500 (440th) nationally in the class of 2016.
Mitchell also held offers from Arkansas, Arkansas State, and Tennessee before deciding to walk-on at UAB. Mitchell did miss a lot of time in his senior year due to an Achilles tear, which likely serves as an explanation for why Ole Miss' interest cooled off. Mitchell stands at 5'10", 197 lbs. and leaps off the tape as a quick, explosive runner that oozes "great potential" with every juke. Time will tell if he can heal properly from a tough injury.
Here is a highlight reel of Mitchell's junior year, when he was considered a four-star prospect:
UAB also signed Carlos Stephens, who played at Thompson HS in Alabama and announced his commitment via Twitter.
Verbally committed to uab. Just thankful for the opportunity God has given me, words can't even explain. Go blazers pic.twitter.com/KWRP43GdwV

Stephens was a late bloomer at the running back position, not surpassing 1,000 yards until his senior year of high school, but is considered an athlete for the 2016 class, and states that he can play multiple positions. Standing at 5'8", 178 lbs., he certainly isn't typical D1 size, but in an up-tempo offense, his 4.52 40 time could come in handy in terms of having an extra weapon.
There is no 247Sports profile on Stephens, but there is a Hudl tape from his senior year:
UAB's Spring Game will be held on March 5th at Legion Field in Birmingham, AL.
