On Wednesday morning, the strong-side defensive end out of Itawamba Community College declared via his Twitter page that he will enroll on the Southside after his stint in the JUCO ranks. He signed with Itawamba directly out of high school.
Originally from Luverne, Ala., the 6-foot-4, 255 pound lineman also held offers from Nicholls State, UT Martin, and South Alabama according to his 247Sports profile page.
According to the NJCAA, Thagard accumulated 25 tackles, 3.5 sacks, and an interception in nine games this season for Itawamba, as he helped lead his team to an MACJC playoff berth.
