Former Alabama offensive lineman Brandon Hill has announced his intentions to sign with UAB after a season at Mississippi Gulf Coast Community College.
Hill, an interior guard standing at 6-foot-6 and weighing 375 pounds, is rated by the 247Sports composite as a three-star recruit and the second best offensive guard in the junior college ranks. He also boasted an offer from Troy, according to his 247Sports page.
Out of St. George's Independent School in Colliersville, Tenn., Hill originally committed to Ole Miss before signing with the Crimson Tide. He was granted a release from his scholarship at Alabama last summer.
Hill is just the latest raw talent Bill Clark and his staff at UAB has been able to secure. The Blazers' commitment list currently includes players that signed with LSU, Alabama, Notre Dame, and Michigan State out of high school.
Undoubtedly, some will not work out. But you cannot blame the coaching staff for a lack of effort in bringing in the most talented roster possible.
