Consider your football season extended.
The inaugural Alliance of American Football season kicks off Saturday, Feb. 8 with eight teams playing 10 weeks through mid-April. A four-team playoff will culminate with a championship game the last weekend in April.
Games will be featured on the CBS family of networks.
And for fans of the Sun Belt, there will be several—15 in fact—familiar faces donning the brand new jerseys.
Seven of the eight squads will field former players for current Sun Belt teams. Though depth charts are not yet set in stone, there are some notable players who figure to see playing time.
Two former quarterbacks will fight for time under center: Troy’s Brandon Silvers for the Memphis Express and former Chanticleer Alex Ross for the San Diego Fleet.
2017 First-Team All-Sun Belt guard Beau Nunn from Appalachian State figures to be in the mix to help block for the Fleet.

On the defensive side of the ball, Trojan fans will recognize former outside linebacker Jonathan Massaquoi, who recorded 19.5 sacks in college before being taken by the Falcons in the fifth round of the 2012 draft.
Arkansas State fans may soon find themselves in Salt Lake Stallions gear, as two former defensive stars: defensive back Cody Brown and end Chris Odom made the Utah-based roster.
