The Sun Belt Conference has officially released the league’s TV schedule for the first half of the season, as well as eight mid-week conference games later in the year.
What Channels will the Games be Broadcast On?
Most of the early season games will air on ESPN3, while others will air on ESPNU, CBS Sports Network, the Pac-12 Network and the ACC Network. There will be four games televised nationally on ESPN’s major channels-ESPN and ESPN2. Those games are:
- Appalachian State at Georgia, Saturday, September 2 at 6:15 pm on ESPN
- Oklahoma State at South Alabama, Saturday, September 8 at 8 pm on ESPN2
- Arkansas State at Georgia Southern, Wednesday, October 4 at 8 pm on ESPN2
- South Alabama at Troy, Wednesday, October 11 at 8 pm on ESPN2
Some important dates to remember include:
Thursday, August 31
Georgia State hosts Tennessee State to open Sun Belt action for 2017.
Saturday, September 16
The first Sun Belt league games! Appalachian State travels to San Marcos, Texas to take on the Texas State Bobcats and New Mexico State flys to Troy, Alabama to take on the Trojans to kick start conference action for the Sun Belt.
Although most of the games are online, which is a slight disappointment, the Sun Belt does have a decent number of games scheduled to be nationally televised, even if they are on Wednesday night. Hopefully the Sun Belt teams make the games interesting and attract some new viewers to the exciting world of Sun Belt football.
