After three players from the Sun Belt were selected in the 2016 NFL Draft, the real fun began. Another 12 student-athletes earned the chance to continue their football career, signing as undrafted free agents. Only UDFAs listed officially by the NFL are part of this list.
Louisiana:
- Dominique Tovell, LB: A Mississippi native, Tovel will get the chance to start his NFL career in the home state of his college as a member of the New Orleans Saints.
- Jamal Robinson, WR: A talented wide receiver from Slidell, Louisiana, Robinson is headed to the Sunshine State as a part of the Jacksonville Jaguars.
Texas State:
- Adrian Bellard, OT: The only Bobcats player to sign an official UDFA contract according to the NFL, Bellard is taking his talented north to play for the Chicago Bears.
Arkansas State:
- J.D. McKissic, WR: An electric player on the field, McKissic is staying in the south after signing a UDFA contract with the Atlanta Falcons.
- Darion Griswold, TE: A very interesting NFL prospect, tight end Darion Griswold is heading to the AFC North as a member of the Indianapolis Colts.
Georgia State:
- Tarris Batiste, S: A Georgia native that also played his college ball in Georgia, Batiste is staying in state yet again after signing a UDFA contract with the Atlanta Falcons.
- Will Lutz, K: A second team All-Sun Belt kicker in 2015, Lutz has the opportunity to continue his football career after signing with the Baltimore Ravens.
Coastal Carolina:
- Alex Ross, QB: Despite not being a member of the Sun Belt last fall, Coastal Carolina is now part of the Sun Belt. Quarterback Alex Ross is the only UDFA to sign a contract. The Georgia native is joining the Atlanta Falcons.
Troy:
- Brandon Burks, RB: A very good running back at Troy, Burks is leaving the heat of the south to ply his trade for the Green Bay Packers.
New Mexico State:
- Winston Rose, CB: The only member of the Aggies to sign a UDFA contract, Rose is heading east to St. Louis as a member of the Rams.
Appalachian State:
- Doug Middleton, DB: Joining NFL Draftee Ronald Blair, Middleton is heading north to play for the New York Jets.
South Alabama:
- Braedon Bowman, TE: The Jaguars tight end is staying a Jaguar in the NFL after signing a UDFA contract with the Jacksonville Jaguars.
Independents:
- Randall Jette, CB, Massachusetts: The Minutemen cornerback is one of two players from UMass to sign UDFA contracts. He is heading to the NFC North as a member of the Green Bay Packers.
- Marken Michel, WR, Massachusetts: Joining teammate Tajae Sharpe in the NFL, Michel signed with the Minnesota Vikings as a UDFA.
