Are you recovered from week six of college football? We didn’t think so, but take a deep breath and get your mind right because week seven kicks off tonight with an App State vs University of Louisiana-Lafayette matchup. The Sun Belt rarely receives national attention, but this game will be broadcast on ESPN2 tomorrow for the whole world to watch.

App State beat Georgia State 17-3 in their first conference game of the season on October 1. Both ULL and App State had a bye last week, which allowed injured players like Marcus Cox to prepare for the game. I’m still questioning how App State will play this week; they wowed in week one against Tennessee but since then they’ve given a pretty lackluster performance. The Mountaineers are predicted to win and I’m sure they will cover the spread if their key defensive players hold the line. Linebacker Boggs is also ranked sixth in the Sun Belt and 28th nationally with 9.6 tackles per game so that’s a great sign for the App State defense.

Louisiana-Lafayette is shaky all around, but their main advantages are that they will be well-rested and they are playing at home. ULL has some great individuals on their roster, but can’t seem to gel as a team. They are currently ranked last in the conference in pass defense and their record is 2-3. I don’t expect a total blowout, but the Ragin’ Cajuns will probably lose by one touchdown.
