Georgia Southern's athletic department released a bit of news this morning about re-upping its contract with Learfield Sports. While that's nice, one piece of the release jumped out at me:
As part of the agreement, the university has selected ANC for the new LED Fascia Display at Paulson Stadium, and Learfield will help lead the integration of the new game day displays.
After Googling "LED fascia display" my suspicions were confirmed: sweet LED ribbons are on their way to Statesboro.
Athletic Director Tom Kleinlein later solidified the news:
"@bob_mikell: @TKleinleinAD http://t.co/OXoz3kz6il new LED ribbon at Paulson?" Yes sir it will be hung on fascia of mid deck this year.

This is impressive considering Paulson Stadium was heavily renovated just last offseason. From what we know so far, it appears the ribbons will be installed on the new visitor's side upper deck (no word on the press box side), will run from the 25 to the 25 and are tentatively scheduled to be installed in time for the home opener Sept. 12 against Western Michigan.
More information here from the Statesboro Herald. If anything else comes out I'll update this post. In the meantime, keep counting down the days until kickoff.
