It's not often a G5 school, or any school for that matter, claims a famous musician as a fan. I don't know if any can match the love "bro" country singer Cole Swindell shows for his alma mater.
From sporting the previously obscure Georgia Southern baseball logo in just about every picture you can find, to modeling his own logo after it, to leading the team onto the field, to Chillin' It with GSU's athletic director, Swindell is as True Blue as it gets. On the flip side, Southern played its last two games in Swindell-inspired helmets.
The love is now official thanks to a new clothing line.
Learfield Licensing Partners, a trademark management company specializing in collegiate licensing and branding, along with Georgia Southern University's trademark licensing department, are proud to announce a partnership with country music star Cole Swindell and KPEntertainment for an exclusive line of apparel produced by The Game... Georgia Southern licensee The Game was Swindell's choice for all headwear, which led to a natural partnership in this new venture between Swindell and Georgia Southern. The Game, founded by college sports fans in 1986, will produce a select offering of branded caps and t-shirts which will be sold in stores throughout the Southeast.
The merch itself is known as the "Hail Southern Collection," which is awesome. Love it or hate it you've got to appreciate out-of-the-box thinking. Maybe Swindell can pen a new team theme song next.
So does it look good?
