Marshall's 2016 National Signing Day Outlook

Entering National Signing Day last season, Marshall was the hottest team in Conference USA fresh off its first ever conference title. After coming up short in its title defense in 2015, the Herd has some work to do and Doc Holliday may have turned up his best class ever.

2015 was supposed to be a rebuilding year for the Herd, but Holliday claimed is was nothing more than reloading. Marshall rolled out the top ranked class in CUSA, touting freshman quarterback Chase Litton who earned the Herd's starting job in game No. 3 and never looked back. Of the 14 recruits that joined the program last season, four saw the field, with three playing significant time.

Here's a snapshot of the Herd's 2016 Class that have committed heading into Wednesday based off the information from 247Sports.

Standing at the top of the class is linebacker Jaquan Yulee out of Virginia. Yulee originally committed to Alabama, but pulled out and reopened his recruitment Jan. 7. A little over two weeks later, Yulee announced he was headed to Marshall. Yulee could be a game changer for the Herd if the commitment holds up as Marshall took a significant loss in its linebacker room at the end of the 2015 season.

Another big name to follow is tight end Pro Wells our of Florida. Wells reopened his recruitment after originally committing to Marshall, only to recommit a week later. His commitment to Marshall appears to affect another Herd recruit in Anthony Watley. After Wells' decision to commit to the Herd following an official visit this past weekend, Watley announced Monday he felt it was in his best interest to commit to East Carolina University. If anything happens with Wells, Watley would certainly be on the Herd's radar.

I'll be updating Marshall's commitment list as it becomes official. If you hear of any news regarding a recruit or someone that is off the radar that could be a last minute splash, shoot me a message or comment below.
