Week 11 In Conference USA: Not Many Surprises

UTEP may have lost its hope of a bowl game while Marshall and Southern Miss notched blowout wins. All in all, though, not too much craziness this weekend.

Tennessee 24, North Texas 0: The Volunteers eased to a win in their homecoming game over the Mean Green. North Texas showed solid defensive improvement but it was not enough. RECAP

Middle Tennessee 24, Florida Atlantic 17: Led by 198 receiving yards from Richie James, MTSU pulled one game closer to bowl eligibility with a hard fought win over Florida Atlantic. RECAP

Old Dominion 31, UTEP 21: The Monarchs held UTEP to just 45 yards on the Miners first six second-half drives to put them away with a strong second half defensive performance. RECAP

Texas San Antonio 30, Charlotte 27: An interception in overtime set up UTSA for a short field goal to win in a battle of two not-very-good football teams. RECAP

Marshall 52, Florida International 0: The Thundering Herd pitched its first shutout since 2013 and its first against an FBS opponent since 2003 in a dominating win on the 45th anniversary of the 1970 plane crash. RECAP

Southern Miss 65, Rice 10: On a night that saw the Golden Eagles throw for 501 yards and outgain Rice 682 to 214, USM moved one game closer to a season ending showdown with Louisiana Tech for the C-USA West Division Title. RECAP
