On behalf of Underdog Dynasty I got to sit down with Cameron Debro of Blogger so Dear to ask a few questions before Appalachian State takes the field against Wake Forest this Saturday in Boone.
Aikman Chambers: Just how good do you think this Wake Forest team is?
Cameron Debro: Woo boy.. If you ask anyone else they'll probably say Wake barely gets to 6 wins and a bowl. I personally and truly believe this is a 7 and MAYBE 8 win team. This defense is real yet again, the only question was the secondary and the past two weeks we've had a DB win ACC Defensive back of the week and Cam Glenn was on the national team for Pro Football Focus. The Offense is more balanced than ever. Still looking for huge plays but they are coming along.
Aikman Chambers: What is the weak spot Wake Forest has that Appalachian State can attack that might make a difference?
Cameron Debro: Getting to the QB. I think our O-line is playing well but I still believe they are the position on the field that isn't as strong and still getting hit with penalties. If Wolford can't stay upright it'll be a long day.
AC: Who are two impact players Wake Forest has on offense and defense?
CD: On offense it's hard to not say Greg Dortch. Dude has been nothing short of electric this season so far and has been adding a much needed spark to this team. On defense, the easy answer would be Jessie Bates, but I'm gonna go with Cameron Glenn. Not only does he have a fantastic first name but over the past three weeks he has been playing on a national level and has been recognized as such.
AC: Is 2017 set up to be a better year in the ACC for Wake Forest?
CD: The players? Yes. The schedule, absolutely not. This team is easily the best in years but the Deacs have an absolute murderer's row following this game.
AC: What is your prediction for Saturdays game?
CD: Gotta think Wake takes this 38-21
