Every Saturday in the Fall people that can’t watch their team play on TV will surely catch their team on the radio. If you’re like me you would just as soon listen on the radio as watch on TV. This is especially true for App state fans. David Jackson was one of the most well known sportscasters in college football as he was the play-by-play voice for Appalachian State from 2000-2015. Adam Witten is the voice now for Appalachian and will surely have some memorable calls as his young career advances. Sit back and take a listen to my “Top 5 App State Radio Calls”.

5. “How Sweet It Is” App State tops Wake Forrest in 1998

4. Appalachian State tops Furman to advance to the 2005 1AA title game

3. Appalachian holds on to beat James Madison in the 1st round of the 2007 1AA Playoffs

2. The Miracle On The Mountain

1. Down Goes Michigan AKA “Yard Sale In The Big House”

Appalachian State football has so many great calls that the list could go on forever. These are my five favorite and as you can see all but one of them have David Jackson as the play-by-play man. His excitement and energy was one of the best parts of Appalachian State football every Saturday in the fall.
