A 13-1 record, an American Athletic Conference Championship and Peach Bowl victory over Florida State has propelled Tom Herman's Houston Cougars to a Top 10 finish in the Final AP Poll of the 2015-16 season.
The Cougars accumulated 1,050 points, ahead of the 981 for Big Ten West Division Champion Iowa and 975 for Sugar Bowl Champions Ole Miss.
The jump from 14th to 8th is tied for the largest leap with LSU, who went from 22nd to 16th.
Houston's Top 10 finish is the highest finish since 1979, when the Cougars were in the Southwest Conference.
The Cougars wasted no time in getting people hyped for fall 2016 by previewing the Cougars' season opener, which is a doozy.
