Wide receiver may not have been an immediate position of need for the Atlanta Falcons, but they likely found it hard to say no to Hardy once they saw the incredibly talented ECU receiver still on the board. Hardy can line up at slot receiver for Matt Ryan and is a receiver who will adjust to inaccurately thrown balls and make circus catches with defenders in his face.
Hardy is a bit undersized and isn't a burner when it comes to speed, and he'll need to be exposed to a wider variety of routes in the NFL. However, his hands and his ability to block defenders separate him from other receiver prospects in the draft.
Atlanta picking Hardy in the 4th round is somewhat curious with all of their pressing needs on defense, but given his talent level, the Falcons may have just gotten a major draft steal.
