As NMSU continues to prepare for the CUSA title game in a few weeks, they’re still racking up achievements.
New Mexico State football dominated Auburn (admit it, you never thought you’d hear that sentence) on Saturday to the tune of 31-10. The X-factor in the victory was a name that Aggie fans have grown very familiar with: quarterback Diego Pavia.
Pavia threw three touchdown passes on Saturday, completing 19 passes on 28 attempts for 201 yards. Check out all three of his touchdowns below.
To start the game, Pavia led an 11-play, 75-yard drive that ended with a nine-yard touchdown pass to Kordell David. Pavia faked the handoff twice, then found David in the corner of the end zone.

In the third quarter, the Aggies added to their lead when Pavia hit fadeaway-style throw to a wide open Star Thomas in the middle of the field. Thomas then stumbled his way into the end zone for a 17-yard score.

The Aggies’ final passing touchdown of the night came from a pass from one quarterback to another. Eli Stowers transferred from Texas A&M as a quarterback, but has seen time catching passes in multiple games this year. Stowers caught a two-yard pass in a very tight window to extend the lead at the start of the fourth quarter.
