Another week of SB Nation’s FanPulse has been released, and it is the most ridiculous rankings of the season to date.
They finally got the Boise State Broncos into the rankings after leaving them out the last two weeks. I went on a rant last week how the Broncos have been nationally ranked and didn’t make the cut. The finally crack the list at No. 20 this week, which is where they rank in the AP and Coaches Polls as well.

What is most inexcusable is that the love for the Big Ten in this week’s poll. Both Maryland and Michigan State lost to unranked teams, but yet, still made the top 25. Maryland Terrapins somehow remained in the FanPulse Poll despite losing to Temple this week. I am not trying to argue that Temple should have cracked the list, but it’s disrespectful to several teams not to crack the top 25 over Maryland.
Michigan State lost to Arizona State, who rounds out the rankings, so explain to me why the Spartans are ranked ahead of Sun Devils? ASU won both meetings between the out-of-conference foes the last two years.
I won’t even argue that Army or Memphis deserve a spot because we represent the G5. Cal, Oklahoma State or TCU are just some of the other more worthy teams than Maryland and Michigan State.
Speaking of Army, they received enough votes to be recognized by the data gathers at SB Nation as they are just outside the top 25.
The UCF Knights dismantled Stanford this week as they look to dominate any opponent in their way, and make a statement that they are one of the nation’s elite teams despite not being part of the traditional Power Five conferences. Seeing how the AAC has gone 3-0 against the Pac-12 this season, it might be time to truly start the discussion of it being a Power Six.
Our readers continue to have UCF climb up the rankings, and also included Army in their top 25, but they are not out of the dog house either. They have Michigan State at No. 22 and Maryland at No. 25. Where is the love for Memphis, SMU or San Diego State? We need to better represent the G5. Below you can find the top 25 based on our readers’ votes.

Based on how the FanPulse Poll has gone so far, it’s becoming more and more likely that a third G5 team will crack the list. It also wouldn’t shock me to see one loss by either UCF or Boise State have them bottom out of the top 25. The lack of respect for what they have to offer, in addition to their conference mates, is pretty clear.
