Top Group Of Five teams that hit the under last season

Here are the G5 teams who consistently played games under the points total last season.

Last season in the AAC, C-USA and Sun Belt conferences there were some extremely talented offensive teams, but we also saw some underrated defenses rise up.

Eight teams finished among the top 50 scoring defenses in the nation. Due to these strong defensive units, we had multiple teams consistently playing games that fell under the total.

Below are some interesting trends that developed last season.

Top American Athletic Conference Teams To The Under

  1. Tulane - 9-4
  2. Tulsa - 8-4
  3. UCF - 8-5
  4. SMU - 7 -5

Interesting ATS Trends

  • Tulane, Tulsa and Temple all were strong against the under at home finishing with 4-2 records.
  • Cincinnati played six away games and they all went under the total. Tulane was also a strong under team away from home as they finished with a record of 5-1.
  • UCF and Tulane went a combined 12-5 against the under in conference matchups.
  • South Florida was a favorite seven times last season and 71.4% of those games went under the total.

Top Conference USA Teams To The Under

  1. North Texas - 11-1-1
  2. Louisiana Tech - 9-4
  3. Western Kentucky - 7-5
  4. UAB - 8-6

Interesting ATS Trends

  • North Texas went under the total in 91.7% of their games last season which was the highest percentage in the country.
  • Louisiana Tech went under the total in 69.2% of their games last season which placed them within the top 10 in the country.
  • Middle Tennessee, UTEP, FAU and UAB were all strong under teams at home, as each finished with a 4-2 record.
  • Louisiana Tech hit the under in seven of their eight conferences games which was good for 87.5%.

Top Sun Belt Teams To The Under

  1. ULM - 9-3
  2. Arkansas State - 9-4
  3. Texas State - 8-4
  4. Georgia Southern - 7-6

Interesting ATS Trends

  • ULM finished within the top five in the country with 75% of their games going under the total.
  • Arkansas State and Texas State both played six home games and they finished with a 4-2 record to the under.
  • 85.7% of ULM’s away games went under the total.
  • Georgia Southern played five non-conference games and 80% of them went under the total.
