Marshall was chosen as the winner of the East with 14 first-place votes, followed by FIU with nine and FAU with three.
North Texas gets the nod in the West taking 20 first-place votes. Southern Miss finished second receiving four first-place votes and Louisiana Tech came in third.
The Thundering Herd return second-year starting quarterback Isaiah Green, along with running backs Tyler King and Brenden Knox.
Interestingly enough, it was the Herd who knocked FIU out of the C-USA title game last season. Their 28-25 victory in Miami propelled Middle Tennessee to face UAB in last year's title game.
The Panthers’ regular-season finale will again be against Marshall, this time in Huntington and that game may very well decide the East division champion.
Mason Fine leads North Texas into 2019, not only looking for a second division championship, but also their first bowl victory under head coach Seth Litrell and first Conference USA Championship.
The Mean Green will again have a high-powered offense behind Fine, running back DeAndre Torrey and receiver Rico Bussey Jr.
Last season's champs, UAB and MTSU, were both selected to finish fourth in their respective divisions.
