It looks like the independent future for New Mexico State is secure. Within the last 24 hours, the Aggies have announced home and home series with the Akron Zips and now the Nevada Wolfpack.
Beginning in 2021, New Mexico State will travel to Reno to play Nevada on October 9th. The following season, on September 17th, the Wolfpack will return the favor and play NM State in Aggie Memorial.
As members of the old Big West and WAC, NM State and Nevada used to play on a yearly basis but that has changed until now. Hopefully the Aggies will be able to close the series gap, which is 13-2 in Nevada’s favor.
The Aggies now have nine games scheduled each for 2021 and 2022.
In 2021, six of the first seven games scheduled are against Mountain West teams (San Diego State, New Mexico, Hawaii, San Jose State, Nevada and Utah State).
So, I guess what I’m trying to say is, MW you’ll play us so why don’t you let us into the conference? We’re much better than SJSU.
