Jacques Boudreaux named Sun Belt Defensive Player of the Week

The senior from New Orleans receives this honor for the second time this season after his 12 tackle performance against ULM.

Jacques Boudreaux Stats: 12 tackles, 0.5 sacks, 1 Pass Break Up


Lafayette, LA- Louisiana Ragin Cajuns senior linebacker Jacques Boudreaux has been Sun Belt Defensive Player of the Week by the league office in New Orleans for his outstanding 12-tackle performance against ULM on Saturday.

Boudreaux, a New Orleans native and Holy Cross High School graduate, became the first Cajuns player to receive a POTW honor twice in the same season since Daniel Cadona in 2014.

This performance from Boudreaux matched his career high in tackles that he set this year vs Georgia Southern. Boudreaux also had 0.5 sacks and a important deflected pass late in the game.

Boudreaux is now up to 89 tackles on the year, which is four away from his career high of 93 that was set last season. Boudreaux also has two tackles for loss, four pass break ups, and a forced fumble.

Boudreaux will lead the Louisiana defense into Boone, North Carolina to face #20 App State in the Sun Belt Championship Game. Kickoff is at 11:00 a.m. and will be televised on ESPN following College Gameday.
