With just a few more weeks left in the regular season, we’ve got a whopping eight games to look at this weekend. After some upsets last weekend, we’re still looking pretty steady as far as our overall record. Hopefully the football deities are on our side for this slate.
Last week: 2-2
Season total: 78-21
Saturday, November 23rd
Southern Miss Golden Eagles vs Western Kentucky Hilltoppers - 3:30 PM ET
WKU might be riding high after knocking off an SEC team and getting back to bowl eligibility, but the Southern Miss offense continues to be electric, as they have been all year. Jack Abraham, Quez Watkins, and company are tough to pick against right now. So I won’t. USM wins.
Charlotte 49ers vs Marshall Thundering Herd - 3:30 PM ET
Look out! Marshall are making a run at C-USA East in these last few weeks of the regular season. Brendan Knox has been one of the most consistent offensive performers of the year and the defense is gaining some confidence following last week’s win against Louisiana Tech. Bet on the Herd.
UAB Blazers vs Louisiana Tech Bulldogs - 3:30 PM ET
Last week, we saw what Tech’s offense looks like with J’Mar Smith and Adrian Hardy out of the picture. They’re suspended for this game as well, so I expect UAB to get a crucial win at home.
Rice Owls vs North Texas Mean Green - 3:30 PM ET
Rice were able to demonstrate that they are on the right track with their first win last week, but Mason Fine is still Mason Fine. He won’t let this be the reason his team finishes the year with a losing record. UNT wins.
New Mexico State Aggies vs UTEP Miners - 4 PM ET
Let’s go with UTEP! In a battle of 1-9 teams, I like the Miners to win this rivalry game. That does lean on whoever gets the nod at quarterback having a good day, however...
Middle Tennessee Blue Raiders vs Old Dominion Monarchs - 3:30 PM ET
MTSU is the pick. We said this on the Pawdcast, but if his team were winning, Asher O’Hara might be frontrunner for C-USA offensive player of the year. He should have another strong performance against ODU.
UTSA Roadrunners vs FAU Owls - 6 PM ET
FAU return from a bye for a showdown in San Antonio. On paper, the Owls simply have far more firepower than UTSA at the moment. FAU wins.
FIU Panthers vs Miami Hurricanes - 7 PM ET
Pair an already underwhelming year for FIU with some significant bumps and bruises for the Panthers and you’re not left with very many reasons to be optimistic about their chances. Bet on the Hurricanes.
