Choosing C-USA: Week 12

How can I follow up a perfect week in week 11?

Middle Tennessee v Florida International Photo by Mark Brown/Getty Images

Last week was a rare perfect week as far as picks go, with Western Kentucky upsetting Arkansas and UTSA pulling out a very close victory against Old Dominion last week. We’re very close to the end of the season, so let’s see if I can make it two weeks in a row with a ver small slate of games this week.

Last week: 6-0

Season total: 76-19

Friday, November 19th

Marshall Thundering Herd vs Louisiana Tech Bulldogs

I’m picking Louisiana Tech here. The Bulldogs have hit their stride in every capacity. If Isaiah Green shows even the slightest bit of weakness and Tech’s defense shuts down Brendan Knox, this one will be a sure thing.

Saturday, November 20th

UAB Blazers vs UTEP Miners

Even with all the issues that UAB presented last week in a loss to Southern Miss where they only scored two points, the Blazers should get this win. UTEP’s offense has been solid enough the last few weeks, but the defense is not quite on the level.

Middle Tennessee Blue Raiders vs Rice Owls

Rice’s defense is worrisome. On the other side, MTSU’s Asher O’Hara has proven his dual threat capabilities on many occasions this season. Those skills will be on full display this weekend as the Blue Raiders should win easily.

UTSA Roadrunners vs Southern Miss Golden Eagles

Southern Miss are the pick. Jack Abraham and Quez Watkins have been incredibly effective this season. While you can praise the progress that UTSA has made on offense this season, they likely won’t keep pace with USM.
