It wasn’t the best week for me in week eight thanks to some tough days for the favorites throughout the league. Nevertheless, tough to believe we’re already halfway through the season. Let’s see where I am after eight weeks and take a look at what’s on tap this week.
Last week: 4-3
Season total: 62-14
Saturday, October 26th
Rice Owls vs Southern Miss Golden Eagles
Will Rice win a game at some point this season? Maybe. But it won’t be this one. Pick Southern Miss.
Marshall Thundering Herd vs Western Kentucky Hilltoppers
WKU have just been the more consistent team this year. Ty Storey and Gaej Walker have proven to be an effective backfield duo the last few weeks and the defense has continued to be stellar all season. I’m picking the Tops.
Charlotte 49ers vs North Texas Mean Green
Charlotte are doing some good things, but they’ve had their momentum halted for the most part. North Texas still have things to work out, but Mason Fine and the offense got some of their mojo back last week in a win over MTSU. The Mean Green are the pick.
Middle Tennessee Blue Raiders vs FIU Panthers
I’ve said it before, but MTSU is a one-man show right now with Asher O’Hara. Meanwhile, FIU seem to have overcome whatever was plaguing them in the early part of the season. The Panthers should be the pick.
Old Dominion Monarchs vs Florida Atlantic Owls
FAU should have this in the bag. ODU continues to have one of the worst offensive lines in football. Meanwhile Chris Robison and FAU’s offense should have a problem keeping the scoring pace they have set for themselves this year.
UTEP Miners vs Louisiana Tech Bulldogs
Tech showed that they are the front runners in the west last week, so the Bulldogs should have no problem getting a road win in El Paso against a one win UTEP team.
