It was a wild, wild weekend in college football as several ranked teams were downed, including the top team in our Underdog Top 10 last week.
The Boise State Broncos loss at BYU takes them out of the No. 1 spot, moving them into a tie for third with the Cincinnati Bearcats.
With Boise State’s loss, the SMU Mustangs headline our latest G5 rankings after their win over Temple keeps them undefeated on the season.

*Numbers in parentheses are the number of first place votes*
Biggest jump: Memphis Tigers
Largest fall: Tulane Green Wave
The biggest movement in the rankings comes from Memphis’ thumping of Tulane, and Temple took a fall as well.
With that said, the American Athletic Conference has taken a stranglehold in the rankings with six teams in our poll. Mountain West has three teams in the top 10, while App State is the lone representative from the Sun Belt.
The rest of the Group of Five has work to do as the Mid-American Conference did not garner any votes, while Louisiana Tech and WKU picked up the only votes for Conference USA.
