Somehow, some way, I had another perfect week last week picking C-USA games. While there’s still a lot of football left, the front runners in both divisions are starting to emerge.

There are once again many football games this week and we shall now pick the winners.

Last week: 7-0

Season total: 58-11

Friday, October 18th

Florida Atlantic Owls vs Marshall Thundering Herd - 6:30 PM ET

Based on Marshall’s inconsistent nature the last few weeks, I have to go with FAU. Chris Robison is racking up touchdowns and the Owls are hitting their stride with four straight victories. Neither passing defense is great though and that will likely keep this game exciting.

Saturday, October 19th

Louisiana Tech Bulldogs vs Southern Miss Golden Eagles - 3:30 PM ET

This one is incredibly tough. J’Mar Smith and the Bulldogs have the better record, but Jack Abraham, Quez Watkins, and Southern Miss have been a highlight machine lately. My gut says Southern Miss. The top dog (or bird) of C-USA West will truly emerge from this one.

Western Kentucky Hilltoppers vs Charlotte 49ers - 4 PM ET

Go with the Tops. Ben LeMay will be a huge test for WKU’s defensive line, but don’t sleep on WKU’s offense. Gaej Walker has four games with more than 100 rushing yards this year and Charlotte’s rushing offense has been one of the league’s worst, statistically.

North Texas Mean Green vs Middle Tennessee State Blue Raiders - 4 PM ET

It would seem that MTSU’s offense is a one man show starring Asher O’Hara. North Texas definitely have their problems, but their more multi-dimensional offense will get them a win. Bet on the Mean Green.

UAB Blazers vs Old Dominion Monarchs - 4 PM ET

UAB are an easy choice. The Blazers continue to put up lots of points despite some sloppy mistakes here and there, plus their defense feels like they are flying under the radar despite giving up the fewest points in the league. Also, was Stone Smartt really the problem for ODU? Or was it the 27 sacks their offensive line has given up? Hmmm...

UTSA Roadrunners vs Rice Owls - 6 PM ET

Rice are the winless team here, but somehow, the Owls are the favorite. The offense is a mess without Frank Harris at QB and Sincere McCormick can’t do everything himself. For the most part, Rice have played their opponents very close this season and have a good chance to break through.

FIU Panthers vs UTEP Miners - 7 PM ET

Definitely FIU. I take no pleasure in explaining how bad UTEP is...so I won’t.
