Troy Trojans: The Trojans host the Jaguars at home in this one following their third loss of the season in which their defense has allowed 40+ points.

Both teams will have had some extra rest entering this weekday Sun “Fun” Belt contest. That is good news for the Trojans who are a much more talented team than the Jaguars, all things considered.

Chip Lindsey and this Trojan offense will look to get Kaleb Barker back on track after his first real hiccup of the season against the Tigers, a game in which they were outmatched from the jump.

For this Trojan defense, get into the film of the Jaguars; last four opponents who have all held the Jaguars to 17 points or less.

This is an absolute must win game for Troy if they want to have any shot at the Sun Belt Title come December. App State has yet to drop a game and they look strong this season.

I fully expect Troy to come out and play inspired football en route to an easy win against the Jags.

South Alabama Jaguars: The Jaguars have not had all that bad of a season if you look into the games more rather than just their 1-5 record.

They gave Nebraska a scare in the first game of the season as it was a one score game going into the 4th.

Take out the two bad losses to Memphis and UAB. Then they played conference opponents, Louisiana-Monroe and Georgia Southern, tight and even taking Georgia Southern to 3OT before losing.

So yes, the Jaguars are 1-5 and last in the Sun Belt, but there is a lot of good to takeaway from this group.

I think the Jaguars will fight hard in this Wednesday Night Lights Sun Belt action. Don’t be surprised if the Jaguars jump out to an early lead or are within one score at halftime.

Troy is receiving 52% of the tickets accounting for 68% of the dollars as the line is sitting at Trojans -15 up from the opener at -14.5

As for the total, it opened at 54.5 and currently sits at 55.

The Jaguars come into this game having lost but covered their last two games ATS, while the Trojans have lost the last two games both straight up and ATS.

The Trojans are 2-3 and must be feeling a little desperate now. With some extra days in between games for the Trojans to figure things out, I think they would like to make a statement in this one.
