New Mexico State Football Update: Hanks Impressing at Senior Bowl

Plus: Two more players have committed to playing for the Aggies this fall

NCAA Football: Senior Bowl Practice John David Mercer-USA TODAY Sports

I’m sure you’ve all seen and heard of the impressive performance Terrill Hanks put on this past week at the Senior Bowl in Mobile, Alabama but that doesn’t mean it doesn’t warrant another article!

Thanks to plays like this:

and this:

Hanks has made his draft stock rise quite a bit. Coming in with projections that put him in the third day of the draft, not too many people had their eye on him. He surely made them take notice as he is now projected to be drafted on the second day of the NFL Draft in April.

In fact, Hanks has the chance to be the highest drafted Aggie since Joe Campbell was drafted in the fourth round (91st pick) in 1988. I’m going to be he does just that, as all 32 NFL teams have met with him and are expressing interest.

He’ll be the second NM State player drafted in as many years (More than the Lobos can say). That’s a testament to the recruitment and coaching being done by Martin and his staff.

Recruiting News

With the second signing period fast approaching, said coaches have added two more prospects to the class of 2019.

Luteru Fedler, a offensive guard from Murrieta, California committed last week. He measures in at 6’3” and 278 pounds. He’s a three star prospect and had offers from San Jose State, Portland State and Idaho.

The other prospect is Josh Ferguson, linebacker out of Katy, Texas. Ferguson is a two star prospect who committed to the Aggies over an offer from Incarnate Word. You can check out his highlights here.
