NM State Football: Top 10 Plays of 2017; #1

Our top play will give you all the feels

NCAA Football: New Mexico State at Texas A&M Thomas B. Shea-USA TODAY Sports

New Mexico State’s 2017 football season was one of the most memorable ever. A great team, exciting games every week, and a bowl game win (finally) all in the same year. How does it get any better than that?

With a great football season comes lots of amazing plays which we have counted down the past two weeks on UnderdogDynasty.

Today, I present to you the top play of New Mexico State football’s 2017 season.

“The Catch”

In what will make a great ending scene to the movie Disney will one day make about this team, NMSU had a 2nd and Goal at the 7 yard line with 40 seconds to go and down by one point. Needing points to take the lead and get to six wins for the first time since 2002, the team was feeling the pressure of an entire city.

That pressure didn’t phase any member of the team one bit.

Tyler Rogers would take the snap, roll right and fire across his body into the end zone where a diving Conner Cramer would make “The Catch” propelling NMSU over South Alabama and to the Arizona Bowl which they would eventually win over Utah State.

The moment was so special that the fans stormed the field. Head Coach Doug Martin became emotional, as did all the players, and a huge party broke out at Aggie Memorial Stadium. It was one of the best, if not the best, moments in all of football. Take a second and relive that glorious evening.

How can you not get emotional about football?

Special thank you to Jeff Balding for all of the great videos used in this countdown! Here’s to another great season in 2018!
