After a long awaited period, the Sun Belt finally dropped the game dates for 2018. The Sun Belt will go into divisions in 2018 thus ringing in a new era as Appalachian State will have a chance at hosting the first ever Sun Belt Championship Game.

Quick Thoughts

  • Appalachian once again has the chance to stir things up in week one with a trip to Penn State.
  • Appalachian gets Troy at home on the final day of the regular season possibly deciding the Eastern Division.
  • Appalachian has a good chance to at least be 4-1 by the time Arkansas State rolls around on October 9th.
  • Traveling to UNC Charlotte will almost feel like a home away from home, as many App fans will pack Jerry Richardson Stadium for the first ever contest between the two schools.
  • Early November games against Coastal Carolina and Texas State will be key for Appalachian to win to be ready for GSU and Troy.
  • App will have a short week to prepare for rival Georgia Southern as the two will play on Thursday once again.
