This afternoon the Sun Belt released schedules for the upcoming football season and we are starting to see which teams have a chance to contend in 2018.
One of those teams happens to be in Monroe as Matt Viator is doing a tremendous job in this rebuilding project. The Warhawks have a really good quarterback with an offense that can score points on anyone. Could ULM emerge as Arkansas State’s biggest competition in the west?

Quick Thoughts
- The road schedule appears to be pretty brutal as the Warhawks will play away from home seven times this season. Included in these road trips will be five of their first seven games. Oh, and two SEC teams as ULM will face Ole Miss and Texas A&M.
- The road trip to Southern Miss in week two may be the biggest game of the season as the Warhawks will be significant dogs in three of their first five games. This contest along with the Georgia State game appear to be coin flips that ULM must win to get to the postseason.
- November will tell us whether this team is a division contender as their final three games occur against west division competition. The Warhawks have to go to Arkansas State but they do get heated rival Louisiana-Lafayette at home on rivalry weekend.
