It’s now just one day until the Early Signing Period begins and we still have some recruits to preview! If you missed yesterdays article, you can check that out here.
Not much has changed but the Aggies now have 15 players expected to sign on from December 19-21. I hope there will be more to sign on in February!
So who else is signing with the Aggies? Let’s find out.
Blake Walker, Three Star OT
Blake is a three star tackle, according to 247sports, who committed from Ventura Community College in Ventura, California.
Depending on which site you view his profile, you’ll see different amounts of offers and interest but both Rivals and 247sports have him visiting UCLA and having offers from Central Michigan and UTEP. 247sports lists Nevada and a few other FCS schools on Walker’s list of offers.
He is a big man at 6’8” and 320 pounds and should fit right in at tackle. You can see his highlights here.
Tevan McAdams, Two Star DE
McAdams’ speed and aggressiveness jumps out at you immediately on his highlight reel. That’s why he was the most heavily recruited NM State commit, with offers from Florida Atlantic, New Mexico and Liberty, as well as interest from Texas, Texas Tech, and Texas State.
Tevan just committed over the weekend on his visit to campus and is a big pickup for the Aggies. He’s from Trinity Valley Community College in Athens, Texas and should contribute right away.
Lama Lavea, Three/Two Star DT
Lama Lavea hails from Chapin High School in nearby El Paso. He is a two/three star prospect depending on what recruiting site you visit. He had offers from Air Force and Texas State and also received interest from Boston College.
Lavea is great at shedding his blocks which is a must for a three technique tackle. He’s also got some speed to track down quarterbacks. I’m excited to see how he matures.
Jared Wyatt, Two Star WR
Another JUCO commit, Wyatt actually started out his career at Bowling Green before transferring to Navarro CC in Corsicana, Texas. He only played in one game for the Falcons before transferring.
On tape, he looks like a great asset to the team. He has speed and runs good routes to get his opponents off coverage. I want to say he will come in and do well but the JUCO receivers we got last year didn’t do much so I’ll hold off on that.
Wyatt was also offered by UAB, which is a good sign.
Other Signees
NM State also signed receivers Robert Downs III and Terrell Warner, DB Ronnie Sanders, LB Taylor Milton.
There aren’t much on the recruiting websites for these players and none of them have any star rankings I could find. It will be interesting to see how these guys fit on the team!
