Well that was ugly.
One week after going 4-1 (5-0 if you followed my advice on Twitter before the game), we put up a big fat zero last week. Other than Army, not one was close either. Georgia Southern and USF got blasted as touchdown favorites, while UConn and Louisiana Tech never stood a chance.
It was a bad week. If you’re a fan of any of the teams above, you know exactly what I mean. There is really nothing else to say.
It’s going to be difficult to get out of this seven-game hole with just a few weeks left to the regular season, but we are going to keep on firing away here.
Last week: 0-5
Overall: 21-28-1
*All lines are according to Scores and Odds and are accurate at the time posted
Arkansas State Red Wolves vs. Coastal Carolina Chanticleers (+6)
These are two teams with matching 5-4 records, but Coastal Carolina is looking for revenge after a 51-17 loss in Jonesboro last season. These two teams are just as close as their records indicate and I’ll back the home dog in this one.
FIU Panthers (-10) vs. Texas-San Antonio Roadrunners
Butch Davis has quietly built one of the strongest teams in Conference USA, while UTSA has scored just three points in two of their last three games. The Panthers should win this one by two touchdowns. W
South Florida Bulls vs. Cincinnati Bearcats (-14)
One team is playing up to their record. The other is not. USF just got trounced in back-to-back games, and even when they went 7-0 to start the season, they needed fourth-quarter comebacks to get three wins and trailed in six of those games. Meanwhile, the Bearcats offense is averaging 35 points per game, which ranks 31st in the nation, and the defense is allowing just 14 points, good for sixth best. USF gets drubbed once again in this one.
Temple Owls vs. Houston Cougars (Over 69)
Temple just hung 40 points on UCF and that was with them scoring just six points in the second half. Houston is coming off their lowest scoring game of the year, scoring 31 points in the loss to SMU. Houston’s defense is more suspect than UCF and Houston will get back to scoring 40-plus points this week.
Southern Miss Golden Eagles vs. UAB Blazers (-12)
UAB has been good to us all season long and when times are tough, you go with what’s been working. The Blazers are 6-1 ATS against Southern in their last seven meetings and make it 7-0 with a convincing win this week.
Check back with us next week for more and let me know what you think in the comments below or via Twitter. Until next week, SHOW ME THE MONEY!!
