In a game that came down to the wire last year, the Blue Raiders left no doubts on the field.

The Blazers came into their final conference regular season game at 7-0, having defeated everyone in their division plus Charlotte. But Saturday saw the Blazers get completely extinguished, as A.J. Erdely was held to 90 yards passing, going 9/20 with a single touchdown. Stalwart backup Tyler Johnston III was not a factor, who saw limited playing time and was 0 for 4 in passing.

A week ago, UAB settled for double-digit rushing yards against their Power Five opponent, but the Blue Raiders held them to -1 rushing yards on the day. Even factoring out the lost yardage due to sacks, the biggest rushing performance for the Blazers was Jarrion Street’s 40 yards on 12 carries. The Blazers had zero answers and zero touchdowns, looking outmatched from every angle.

For Middle Tennessee, Brent Stockstill threw for 261 yards, going 22/29 passing with two touchdowns. His favorite target, Ty Lee, finished with 100 yards receiving and a touchdown.

Chaton Mobley led all running backs with 52 yards on 14 carries, but MTSU had other options on the ground, so the team finished with 133 total rushing yards.

With FIU dropping its game to Marshall today, UAB will get another shot at this— with the Blue Raiders win, these two teams will meet again next week in the Conference USA championship game.

UAB may want to consider reinforcements.
