P6 Pick’em: College GameDay comes to Orlando

It’s time for the AAC to put on a show.

NCAA Football: Michigan at Ohio State Greg Bartram-USA TODAY Sports

If you are a UCF fan or a college football fan in the Orlando area, get your butt over to watch ESPN’s College GameDay. With UCF hosting Cincinnati to defend their perfect record, it’s a perfect opportunity for this conference to showcase their talent. Last year, they did a great job when they were in the spotlight. Another strong showing could potentially change some minds about the strength of this conference.

Game of the Week

#24 Cincinnati (+7) at #11 UCF

It’s time for the conference to make another statement, and this one could be the loudest of them all. Last year, UCF play arguably three of the most exciting games in college football last year. They beat USF in a thriller, gave their fans another heart attack against Memphis in an overtime AAC Championship Game, and hit Auburn in the mouth to win the Peach Bowl. The 2018 team has been far from 2017, but they’re still perfect thus far. They have been given plenty of attention, and now College GameDay is here. Cincinnati looks to play the role of spoiler, and is looking to make their own statement within the conference.

Rest of the AAC

Tulane (+10) at Houston

Who would have thought halfway through the season that this game would mean so much? Houston had firm control of the West, but now finds themselves in need of some help and tied with Tulane. The biggest question for them remains the health of Ed Oliver, and no one is sure if he’ll return this year.

Joe S: Houston 44 Tulane 31

Memphis (-8.5) at SMU

If you are a Memphis Tigers fan, your interest may have increased in the last couple weeks. Same for SMU. If you likes offenses, buckle up. Ben Hicks and the Mustangs have been playing great football as of late, but they need to outscore Darrell Henderson and the Tigers.

Joe B: Memphis 31 SMU 30

Joe S: SMU 35 Memphis 31

Eric: Memphis 28 SMU 25

USF (+14) at Temple

Temple still has a chance to win the East, and stunned Houston last week to keep those hopes alive. USF is looking to end a three game losing streak, and spoil any hopes that the Owls still have of winning the division.

Michael: Temple 45 USF 35

Joe B: Temple 33 USF 31

Joe S: Temple 44 USF 28

Eric: Temple 38 USF 28

Tulsa (+5.5) at Navy

Ah yes, the last two game feature the four worst teams. Tulsa has looked like the best of these four, but they need to prove it. The line shows what some think of them against a Navy team that’s used nearly every option at quarterback.

Michael: Tulsa 31 Navy 17

Joe B: Tulsa 24 Navy 14

Joe S: Tulsa 27 Navy 21

Eric: Tulsa 24 Navy 17

UConn (+17) at ECU

One of these two teams needs to escape the cellar of the AAC. Or at least try to. ECU’s having a little more success than UConn this year, but they need to prove that. If they can stop David Pindell, they’ll probably win.

Michael: ECU 48 UConn 35

Joe B: ECU 44 UConn 37

Joe S: ECU 28 UConn 14
