Largest fall: North Texas Mean Green
The Boise State Broncos came in at second pretty comfortably in the rankings, but after that, only 37 votes decided teams 3-10. We are still learning a lot about many of these teams, but should start to see some separation in the upcoming weeks as we enter conference play.
Other than UCF and Boise State, the South Florida Bulls were the only team to appear on every voter’s ballet. They were all over the place as some had them as high as No. 2 and one voter had them at No. 9.
The American Athletic Conference continues to lead with the most in the Top 10 with four teams. The Mountain West Conference has three teams, Sun Belt has two and Conference USA one. The Mid-American conference only received five votes total, all for Buffalo.
Army did receive 14 votes as an independent, which is good for 12th in the voting.
