Nothing has changed at the top of our Underdog Top 10 with undefeated UCF Knights at No. 1, but this week is the closest we’ve seen teams 2-7 all season long.
Underdog Top 10 - Week 8
Rank | Team | Points | Conference |
---|---|---|---|
Rank | Team | Points | Conference |
1 | UCF | 110 (11) | American |

7 | Utah State | 55 | Mountain West |
8 | Buffalo | 31 | Mid-American |
9 | Cincinnati | 25 | American |
10 | Boise State | 21 | Mountain West |
Biggest jump: Fresno State Bulldogs
Largest fall: Cincinnati Bearcats
Previously unbeaten Cincinnati goes from No. 2 to No. 9 following the overtime loss to Temple on Saturday.
Fresno State and App State each garnered 83 votes, with the Bulldogs picking up more second-place votes. It’s the first time this season we’ve had a tie this high in the poll.
The middle of the poll is muddled as just nine votes separate No. 4 through No. 7.
The American and Mountain West continue their stranglehold of the rankings, holding down eight of the 10 spots. App State is the lone representative from the Sun Belt, while Buffalo is the only team from the Mid-American Conference. Conference USA team broke the top 10 once again.
