American

• Per Dan Wolken of USA Today, Memphis and UCF are attempting reschedule their game.

• The league office did a bunch of scheduling shuffling to make sure each team plays their expected number of conference games.

• Old Dominion’s pass rush is legit and they’re going to need it on Saturday when they host North Carolina. It’s the fifth consecutive year ODU plays a Power Five opponent and head coach Bobby Wilder loves the challenge.
• True freshman corner Amik Robertson has been a pleasant surprise for Louisiana Tech.
• Middle Tennessee adds FCS UT Martin to next year’s schedule.
• Blood clots were discovered in FAU quarterback DeAndre Johnson’s arm and he is out indefinitely.
• Jay Hopson is playing a lot of young players at Southern Miss this year.
• Quarterback Ryan Metz will miss UTEP’s home game with Arizona this Friday.

• ULM hosts Southern Miss on Saturday and Matt Viator is modeling his rebuild on what Southern Miss has accomplished.
• Texas State releases their uniform combination for the conference opener against Appalachian State.

• UL-Lafayette has found some answers at the running back position.
• Dallas Davis is expected to be the starter at quarterback for South Alabama this weekend.
