The USA Today Coaches Poll has been released and as usual, only one Group of Five team made an appearance in the Top 25 as the USF Bulls are ranked no. 21 to start the season.
Last year Houston was the only G5 to appear in the preseason Coaches Poll as the Cougars started the season ranked no. 13.
This is USF’s first appearance in the preseason Coaches Poll since 2008 in which the Bulls also started the season ranked no. 21. The Bulls finished with an 8-5 record that year.
The G5 teams who missed the cut are Boise State, Memphis, Appalachian State, Tulsa, Wyoming, Western Michigan, Temple, Houston, Troy and Louisiana Tech as they received multiple votes to be included in the preseason poll, while Army and Toledo received just one vote.
