Vegas likes USF to win the AAC in 2017

Playing in the East gives the Bulls the edge to the championship

Bovada Sportsbook released their conference champion odds today, and it came as no surprise to see USF picked to win the conference.

Here is the current breakdown on the site: USF +150, Houston +500, Memphis +500, UCF +500, Navy +600, Tulsa +850, Temple +1800, SMU +2500, Cincinnati +2800, Tulane +5000, UConn +10000, and ECU +10000.

The biggest surprise to me was seeing UCF with the same odds as Houston and Memphis.

The Knights flourished under Scott Frost, but it remains to be seen if they are on the same level as Houston and Memphis. They do play in the East, and presumably will have to beat out just USF to win the division.

This conference is wide open, and even though the Bulls are the “favorite”, there is no clear-cut leader. SMU and Cincinnati could be sleepers, but your best bets will be any of the top six teams.

Houston was picked to win the conference last year, and the two conference championship participants, Temple and Navy, were projected to finish tied for second and tied for fourth, respectively. Take that as you will.
