After landing two-star offensive lineman Trey Livingood out of Kentucky earlier this week, Doc Holliday and the Marshall staff received more good news from the Blue Grass state. Offensive lineman Zack Ferris announced Thursday night he has committed to the Marshall.

Ferris is from Somerset, Kentucky, and was being recruited by Eastern Michigan, Murray State and Eastern Kentucky along with other programs. Marshall and Eastern Michigan are Ferris’ only FBS offers to date.

Ferris becomes Marshall’s fourth commit form the Blue Grass state in the 2018 recruiting class and fourth offensive lineman. Zack Ferris is projected as a guard and at 6’5”, 305 pounds, he gives Marshall another huge body on the offensive line.

After having zero commits from Kentucky in the 2017 recruiting class and just one in 2016, it’s interesting to see Marshall recruit Kentucky this heavy. It’s still early in the recruiting process, but after having huge success in Florida, perhaps we’re seeing the ripple effects of the hires from the Florida schools and a change in strategy from the coaching staff in Huntington.

With Ethan Bingham (OT), Dalton Tucker (OT), Trey Livingood (OG) and Zack Ferris (OG), Marshall appears to have their offensive line for the future. As it stands Marshall's four offensive line commits average 6'5" and 302 pounds.
