Christian-Young and Spencer

The Army coaching staff will have two new faces heading into spring football. Both are familiar faces to the Black Knight program.

Coach Monken has brought back Todd Spencer to coach the offensive line and that’s big news for Army. Coach Spencer is a legendary Flexbone triple option O-Line coach, having served under Paul Johnson at Georgia Tech and Navy, and Coach Monken at Army prior to the 2016 season. Coach Spencer has 38 years of coaching experience at the collegiate level. His offenses have led the country in rushing multiple times and he has four commander-in-chief wins on his resume.

Coach Monken has also promoted Josh Christian-Young from a defensive quality control role he has held for the past two season to the Defensive Backs coach position. Prior to his arrival at Army, Christian coached Corners at Georgia Southern. He has also served as a Corners and Nickles and Kickers/Punters at Central Missouri.
