Red Wolves Use Early Signing Day to Load the Wagon on Defensive Side

Blake Anderson said the initial early signing day class that ASU inked on Wednesday will offer “speed and range” especially at corner, add to an ongoing theme at receiver which is length, and address defensive needs all over including the addition of “violence & power..brought in on the D-Line spot.” The Red Wolves signed 22 that includes 8 players that played or redshirted last year and 14 newcomers in a mix of 11 high school athletes and 3 junior college transfers. The main focus was on the defensive side of the ball as ASU signed 12 that come from the secondary and defensive line positions. The signees came from 12 different states including 2 from Arkansas. Anderson said that the staff offered 23 athletes from Arkansas, the most ever. Anderson says there is “still some work to do over the holidays, we’re still battling on a few guys and could potentially add some guys in February.”
