New Mexico State Pre-Bowl Season Tidbits

Another recruit joins the Aggies, ticket sales are through the roof!

NCAA Football: New Mexico State at Arkansas Nelson Chenault-USA TODAY Sports

What’s up Aggie fans?!? Hope you’ve all been doing well since the season ended in dramatic fashion.

Since I haven’t written anything in a while, I felt it would be good to catch you guys up on the happenings going on around the New Mexico State Aggies as they get ready to play in their first bowl game since 1960!

Recruiting Update

Coach Doug Martin was able to secure his eighth recruit ahead of the December 20th signing date by getting linebacker Devin Richardson to commit!

Richardson is a 6’3” 215 pound linebacker from Spring, Texas. You can see his Hudl highlights here.

What makes this commit impressive is that NMSU got him over New Mexico, Utah Utes and Southern University. Utah was actually the first team to offer Devin but the Aggies were the only ones to get him!

New Mexico State now has eight recruits committed for the Class of 2018 and are rated as the 9th best class in the Sun Belt. Richardson does not have a star ranking on 247sports.com.

More recruits are coming to visit this weekend ahead of Wednesday’s first signing day.

Bowl Tickets

Utah State has only sold about 700. Take notice Mountain West.

Bowl Roster

According to Jason Groves, NMSU will have their entire roster, plus two players available for the bowl game. This is huge as it shows how far this program has come both on the field and in the classroom.

Bowl Benefits

I saw this article on the potentially positive effects of the bowl on the NMSU football program and thought I would share.

Hopefully the Aggies put on a good showing and bring home the trophy! Make sure to stay tuned to UnderdogDynasty as it gets closer to the bowl on December 29th for more Aggie info!
