It was a long search completed by new athletic director Bryan Maggard but just a few days ahead of National Signing Day, the Ragin’ Cajuns have their new head coach.

Per Maggard, “Coach Napier is highly respected within the coaching profession and brings tremendous experience from nationally-ranked programs. He is widely considered to be one of America’s top recruiters and offensive minds and will instill values of a Championship program into Ragin’ Cajuns Football.”

In his only year as the offensive coordinator at Arizona State, the 38-year-old called plays for an offense that averaged 31.9 points per game, 5.6 yards per play, and was ranked 37th in the country per S&P+.

Before moving to Tempe, Napier spent five years in Tuscaloosa as Alabama’s wide receivers coach. Before that Napier was the quarterbacks coach at Colorado State under Jim McElwain and was Dabo Swinney’s first offensive coordinator at Clemson.

It appears that the administration will be all in on Napier and will give him the financial support to build a Sun Belt title contender.

The press conference will be on Monday and we will keep you updated here at Underdog Dynasty. Leave us a comment and let us know what you think of the hire.
