The Sun Belt announced Monday that Cedric Wilcots II was named Defensive Player of the Week for his stout performance in the Aggies 17-10 victory over the Vandals.

Wilcots had six tackles and added 3.5 sacks during the win, adding to the team record 11 sacks that were made Saturday. He also helped hold Idaho to 41 rushing yards, the fewest allowed since a December 5, 2015 game against UL-Monroe.

The redshirt-sophomore has been a force this year and is really blossoming into a great defensive lineman. On the year, Wilcots II has 27 tackles (11 solo), 7.5 sacks, three forced fumbles and two pass defenses.

This is the second time this season that Wilcots has won the award. Let’s hope he has a great game Saturday and helps lead the Aggies to bowl eligibility!
