Outlook

Well everyone, we’ve made it. With the Conference USA East division clinched, the matchup against Charlotte serves as a tune up. The Owls will finish their revenge tour against Charlotte, as the 49ers defeated FAU on a Hail Mary last year.

Whether Charlotte should have been rewarded with the game-winning touchdown is irrelevant. All that matters is that FAU has the power to make amends for the embarrassing loss with a thorough beatdown on Charlotte’s senior day this year. The win will give FAU a perfect season in conference play, and give FAU nine wins, the most regular season wins ever in school history.

Being that so much more will be on the line next Saturday, I’m hoping to see FAU escape injury-free. Being that the talent gap is so wide, this game should be over at the half and give more than enough reps for the second team. FAU will be playing one of the worst teams in the country. S&P+ gives FAU a 90 percent chance at winning the game. If Charlotte wins, it’ll be one of the biggest upsets in the season.

Lane Kiffin has done an amazing job at keeping the Owls locked in throughout conference play. As long as FAU comes out and maintains their edge right from the beginning, this game could be over in the middle of the second quarter.

With history on the line, I’m hoping to see a motivated football team hungry to make history.
