Underdog Top 10: Week 6

A new team soars into the mix as an old staple falls

For the first time this season, every conference is represented in the Top 10. However, the American’s dominance continues to grow.

Dropped out: Boise State

New to top 10: Troy

In week one, Boise State defeated Troy. This week, because college football always makes sense, Boise State drops from the top 10 as Troy takes its place. The Troy Trojans are the toast of the G5 this week after doing the unimaginable: defeating LSU in a night game at Tiger Stadium. “The chance of rain is never,” but there was a 100% chance of tears.

Other than that, from last week to this week just saw some shifting around. UCF climbs after thrashing Memphis, who drops in response. The Aztecs hold strong at the top with USF right on their tails.

Each G5 conference is represented now. One each from C-USA, the MAC, and the Sun Belt. The Mountain West is down to two, and the American dominates otherwise. The only thing missing is an independent, something that has been lacking since BYU failed to live up to expectations.

The marquee game for the top 10 this week is the first leg of the Commander-in-Chief’s Trophy, as the #5 Navy Midshipmen host rival Air Force. Also, the #10 UTSA Roadrunners will host Southern Miss in a C-USA West showdown with division title implications.
