Dropped out: Troy
New to Top 10: Fresno State
Troy’s win over LSU skyrocketed them in the rankings in the immediate aftermath, but the loss to South Alabama quickly soured that good favor. Meanwhile, Fresno State has come out of nowhere to lead the Mountain West West division after stomping San Diego State. Because of these factors, Fresno State replaces Troy in this week’s top 10.
This change means the American, which had been dominating the rankings, is now tied with the Mountain West with four teams each. Conference USA and the MAC each have one, but the Sun Belt drops out with the fall of Troy.
You can catch the #4 Toledo Rockets in action tonight on ESPN3 as they travel to Ball State. Tomorrow, the #3 (#24 AP) Memphis Tigers will host Tulane on CBSSN. There are two games of note on Saturday. First, at 2:00 CT, the #5 Colorado State Rams will host Air Force in the annual battle for the Ram-Falcon Trophy on CBSSN. Then at 2:45 CT, the #1 (#17 AP) South Florida Bulls will host Houston on ESPNU.
