Underdog Top 10: Week 7
Rank | School | Record | Points | Conference |
---|---|---|---|---|
Rank | School | Record | Points | Conference |
1 | San Diego State | 6-0 | 69(6) | Mountain West |
2 | USF | 5-0 | 61(1) | American |
3 | UCF | 4-0 | 55 | American |
4 | Navy | 5-0 | 43 | American |
5 | Troy | 4-1 | 37 | Sun Belt |
6 | Houston | 4-1 | 36 | American |
7 | Colorado State | 4-2 | 33 | Mountain West |
8 | Memphis | 4-1 | 23 | American |
9 | Toledo | 4-1 | 20 | MAC |
10 | Marshall | 4-1 | 4 | Conference USA |
Dropped out: UTSA
New to top 10: Marshall
The first thing that stands out to me is that all the points went to nine teams. #10 Marshall received only 4 points, but still made it in. That tells me the nine best G5 teams seem pretty clear to everyone. We’ll have to wait until next week to see how South Alabama’s upset of Troy affects that.
The only change to conference representation is that Marshall replaces UTSA in the top ten for Conference USA. Otherwise, every conference is still represented with the American still dominant.
We saw the #5 Troy Trojans fall last night. As for the rest of the top ten, the marquee game will feature the #4 Navy Midshipmen and the #8 Memphis Tigers in a critical American West showdown. Another game to watch has the #1 San Diego State Aztecs hosting RV Boise State.
